Temperature Controlled Transport
Chilled and ambient consignments, nationwide, on one dedicated vehicle
A temperature-controlled consignment is only as good as the weakest moment in its journey, and on a shared network that moment is a loading bay. Most couriers move refrigerated goods the same way they move parcels: collected, trunked to a hub, unloaded, sorted, reloaded, trunked again.
We do not run a network. Every temperature-controlled job goes on one dedicated vehicle with one driver, direct from collection to delivery, anywhere in mainland Britain. There is no hub, no sortation and no second vehicle — so there is no point in the journey where the chain is out of anyone’s hands.
Why dedicated matters more here than anywhere else
On a shared network every handover is a door opening and a spell on a bay, and the further down the network a chilled consignment travels the harder that becomes to evidence afterwards. Nobody sets out to break a cold chain; it breaks in the gaps between operators.
A dedicated vehicle has no handovers to lose it in. It is loaded once and unloaded once, which makes the chain both simpler to hold and simpler to account for when a customer asks what happened between collection and delivery.
What we carry chilled
- Chilled food and ingredients — production, wholesale and retail consignments
- Pharmaceutical stock and clinical materials
- Laboratory samples and pathology specimens
- Ambient-sensitive goods that must not be allowed to freeze or overheat
- Time-critical consignments where a delay is the same as a loss
How the vehicle is sourced
Temperature-controlled capacity comes from vetted carriers in our network, chosen for the consignment and dispatched by us. Whoever drives it, one company plans the job, holds the booking and answers for it through to proof of delivery — you deal with the same office throughout.
That is also what makes nationwide refrigerated work realistic rather than theoretical. A collection in Aberdeen or Cardiff does not wait for a vehicle to drive up from Northamptonshire — it goes on a suitable vehicle near the collection, booked and managed from here.
Where we run
We are based at Strixton near Wellingborough, on the A45 between the M1 and the A14, which puts most of England and Wales inside a same-day run. Chilled and refrigerated work runs nationwide across mainland Britain, with dedicated town pages for the areas we are asked for most.
Booking and timing
There is no daily cut-off — we operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including weekends and bank holidays. Call 01604 698237 and a specialist picks up, not a call queue. We aim to give you a price in about ten minutes and a realistic arrival time before you book, rather than a headline figure we cannot hit.
Good to know.
Anything not covered here, call us — a specialist picks up, not a call queue.
